Drivers sought to assist West Carleton residents
On January 15, I attended a volunteer information session hosted by the Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre (WOCRC). The purpose of the session was to actively recruit volunteer drivers from communities in West Carleton who are able to support local seniors and adults with physical disabilities with drives to activities such as medical appointments, grocery shopping, church, etc. I was pleased to see a good contingent of residents attending the session which resulted in WOCRC recruiting several new volunteer drivers. This is a great start!
WOCRC is still actively seeking volunteer drivers. Drivers are compensated for their mileage and provided with great training opportunities in the health and social service sector. If interested, please connect the WOCRC at 613-591-3686 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
