Road resurfacing in Ward 5

My office recently received an update from City staff regarding some road resurfacing work. Work has started on resurfacing Old Almonte Road, Beavertail Road and Richardson Side Road. The work involves pulverizing the existing surface, grading, compacting and then applying asphalt. The roads will not be closed and will have one lane open for traffic during the construction. There may be some delays.

Huntley Community Association looking for volunteers

The Huntley Community Association needs volunteers for their burger booth at the 152nd Carp Fair (Sept.24-27). It's a great opportunity to come out and meet some folks in your community while working in a fast-paced environment. No experience required. This a great opportunity for high school kids to earn some of their volunteer hours! If interested, send an email to kara@storm.ca.

Fundraiser for the West Carleton War Memorial

During this year’s Carp Fair Ottawa Fire Station 66, with support from the West Carleton firefighters, are raising money for the West Carleton War Memorial Project. The money raised will go toward helping complete this beautiful tribute to our fallen and our veterans.

On September 26 at the Carp Fairgrounds two firefighters will climb a 70 foot ladder and remain at the top for 24 hours. Their goal is to raise $10,000. When you’re visiting the Fair this year, make sure to stop by to cheer on the firefighters and make a donation. Donations can also be made online at gofundme.com/fireforfallen.
