6th Annual West Carleton-March Food Drive

Every year my food drive for the West Carleton Food Access Centre is a success and I’m hoping for the same this year! I’m inviting residents to drop off non-perishable food items to the ward office (5670 Carp Road) between November 1 and 30. Specific items needed are canned fruit, canned ham, canned tomatoes, peanut butter, cereal and jam. Please, no expired products. Items can be dropped off Monday to Friday, between 9am and 5pm. Thank you in advance for helping the needy in our community.

  • Home maintenance; and
  • Information and referral services

The Fitzroy Harbour centre will be open Tuesdays and Wednesdays at Bethel-St. Andrew’s United Church, 184 Jack Lougheed Way (formerly 184 Carleton St). The Constance Bay centre will be open Mondays and Thursdays at the Constance Bay Community Centre (262 Len Purcell Dr.).

2017 Kanata-Carleton Arts Booklet

I am supporting a full day Cultural Festival in 2017 being organized by a committee of arts and cultural groups in West Carleton-March, Kanata North, Kanata South, Stittsville and Rideau-Goulbourn.

To promote the festival, a 50 page booklet highlighting arts and cultural groups in the west-end will be produced. 4000 copies will be printed. Each group participating will have space to describe their organization as well as their events happening in 2017. The booklet will be distributed through various avenues at the end of December 2016/early January 2017.

If you would like to feature your organization in this publication (free of cost), please send my assistant, Sylvia Bell (, an email with the following information and someone will be in touch with further details:

  • Name of Organization
  • Contact phone number and email address
  • Brief description of the organization
  • How many scheduled events in 2017
