Temporary road closure

Please take note that John Shaw Road will be closed from Grants Side Road to Kinburn Side Road from July 4 to September 2016 in order to complete rehabilitation work on Anderson Bridge. Notification signs will be posted and local and emergency vehicle access will be maintained.

Fitzroy Concerts in the Park back again this summer

Fitzroy Provincial Park is hosting the free 2016 Concerts in the Park series every Thursday evening in July. This year's musical line up includes Mick Armitage Band (July 7), Sidewinder (July 14), The Ramblin Valley Band (July 21) and Ambush (July 28). The eveningbegins at 6pm with a BBQ (cash only) available courtesy of local youth groups. All funds will go towards local youth initiatives. Concerts begin at 7pm. West Carleton Glee Club

I was pleased to learn that the West Carleton Glee Club is once again offering programming for students from grades 1-8. They will be meeting on Wednesday nights in Carp starting August 24. Sessions run for ten weeks, with a concert on the last night. The Club's focus is on fun, contemporary music with a hint of musical theatre. All children are welcome! Canada Day schedule changes

There will be some schedule changes to city services for the Canada Day holiday. Please go to for details on all the service changes. Of note, there will be no curbside green bin, recycling or garbage collection on July 1. Canada Day’s pick up will be on Saturday, July 2. In addition, the collection of green bin, recycling and garbage will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.

Canada Day in Ward 5

Check out the “Ward Events” section of my website for a listing of some of the great festivities happening in Ward 5 on July 1 – including a FREE seniors’ pancake breakfast hosted by the Huntley Community Association and sponsored by me. All West Carleton-March seniors are invited to attend between 8:30-10:30am at the Mess Hall in Carp, 2240 Carp Rd.
