Proposed Plan of Subdivision at 1020 & 1070 March Rd.

The City of Ottawa is holding a public meeting on Thursday, October 3 from 7pm to 8:30pm at the Richcraft Recreation Complex, 4101 Innovation Drive (Minto Community Room), to discuss a proposed plan of subdivision at 1020 and 1070 March Road. The owner is proposing to develop a subdivision comprised of 728 residential units including 297 single detached dwellings, 315 townhouse dwellings and 116 back-to-back townhomes. Also included in the subdivision are two commercial mixed-use blocks, a future school block and various park and open space blocks. 156th Annual Carp Fair

The Carp Fair is set to open on Thursday, September 26 and will run until Sunday, September 29. In terms of parking, 3629 Carp Road is the new home for Fair parking. Shuttles will bring attendees to and from the fairgrounds and will continually run for the duration of the fair. Also, with your proof of a Carp Fair ticket, OC Transpo buses within Ottawa will bring you, free of charge, to the Terry Fox Park and Ride where you can then catch the Carp Fair shuttle. Shuttle times can be found at carpfair.ca.

Temporary road closure: Carp Road

From Friday, October 4 to Monday, October 7, Carp Road from Thomas A. Dolan Parkway to Kinburn Side Road will be closed in order to complete culvert replacement work. Notification signs will be posted and local and emergency vehicle access will be maintained.

West Carleton Snowmobile Club AGM

The Annual General Meeting of the West Carleton Snowmobile Club is being held on Tuesday, October 1, at 7pm, at the Kinburn Community Centre, 3045 Kinburn Side Rd. New board members needed and there are several openings available. City of Ottawa 2019 Career Showcase

Are you actively looking for a new career? Are you interested in learning more about working at the City? You should come check out the City of Ottawa’s 2019 Career Showcase on Thursday, October 3, from noon to 6pm at Ottawa City Hall’s Jean Pigott Place (110 Laurier Avenue West). Registration opens at 11:30am. The event will feature information booths where you can meet representatives from across the corporation to learn about career choices with the City. You can also register for several helpful employment workshops. Workshop spaces are limited, so be sure to reserve your early spot early, either at ottawa.ca/careers or by calling 3-1-1. Bring hard copy versions of your resumé and covering letter if you are interested in having it reviewed by an HR professional. Also, make sure to load a copy of your resumé and your covering letter onto a USB stick and bring it with you if you will be participating in the building your on-line profile workshop.
