Flu Shot Immunization Clinic in Ward 5

Unfortunately it’s that time of year – flu season. With it comes the reminder for residents to get their flu shot. Ottawa Public Health is holding a flu shot clinic on November 4 from 3:30-7:30pm at the West Carleton Community Complex, 5670 Carp Road.

You can also get the vaccine from your family doctor, participating pharmacies and at any of other Ottawa Public Health clinics (a complete listing can be found on under the “Latest News” section of the homepage). You can also visit and enter your postal code or address to find the nearest location where you can get your vaccine.

4th Annual Whiskey Business Fundraiser

The Diefenbunker's 4th Annual Whisky Business Fundraiser is coming up on November 28, and tickets are now on sale. Tickets can be purchased at

With the help of Geoffrey Skeggs, master sommellier, guests will taste 5 different whiskies with 5 different food pairings. Light fare, tasting notes, and educational handouts are all part of this event. There will be a selection of prizes for raffle, with all proceeds going to the preservation of the Diefenbunker.
